His father disagreed saying that courage was more important. Swami was not ready to accept this. His father then challenged him to show his courage by sleeping alone in the office that night.

Swami disputed his father's theory. He could not understand how being courageous would help him if a tiger attacked him. He strongly felt that it must have been a strong and grown up person who had faced the tiger. It was impossible for a boy to fight a tiger.

The grandmother and mother of Swami were tolerant towards the lazy and lai back behavior of Swami whereas his father was strict and tried to discipline Swami. I agree with Swami's father's point of view because he was trying to discipline Swami which is necessary for him.
