→ the digit at the unit's place = 12 - x

→ Original number = 10x +(12 - x) = 9x + 12  

If the new number formed by reversing the digits is greater than the original number by 54.

[10(12 - x) + x]- [10x +(12 - x)] = 54

 

After solving, we get

x = 3  

 

Therefore original number = 9x + 12 = 9 × 3 + 12  = 39
