998 = 1000 - 2
So 998^2 = (1000-2)^2
As (a-b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab
We have 1000^2 = 2^2 - 2(2)(1000)
1000000 + 4 - 4000 = 996004

(998)^2
(1000-2)^2
we know that
(a-b)^2=a^2 +b^2-2ab
put a= 1000. b=2
1000^2 + 2^2 -2×1000×2
1000000 + 4 -4000
1000004 - 4000
996004 ans.
