✨This question might make more sense if u said

1/(1 + a^y - x) + 1/(1 + a^x - y).

I am assuming that you meant this:

1/1+a^y−x + 1/1+a^x−y

⟹1/(1+a^y/a^x) + 1/(1+a^x/a^y)

⟹a^x/(a^x+a^y) + a^y/(a^y+a^x)

Since the denominators are same, we can add the two quantities

⟹a^x+a^y / a^x+a^y

⟹1

So the expression simplifies to unity.✨
