To evaluate : (\frac{-12}{-5} )+(\frac{7}{-3} ) +( \frac{-5}{14} )+ (\frac{22}{7} )

Solution  :

  • To find the sum of given rational numbers we get need to equalize denominators of both the rational numbers. By taking LCM
  • Therefore, LCM = 210
  • Now, multiplying numerators of both rational numbers by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get,
  • (\frac{-12}{-5} )+( \frac{7}{-3} )+(\frac{-5}{14}) +(\frac{22}{7} )= (\frac{-12\times42}{-210} )+(\frac{7\times 70 }{-210} )+(\frac{-5\times 15}{210}) + (\frac{22\times 30}{210})

                                        = (\frac{-504}{-210}) +( \frac{490}{-210}) + (\frac{-75}{210}) + (\frac{660}{210}  )\\\\= \frac{504 -490 -75 +660}{210} \\\\=\frac{599}{210}

Hence, on evaluating given expression we get  \frac{599}{210} .
