2x - 3y - z ; Where x = -2, y = 3, and z = -2

Since we're given the values of x, y, & z, we can very simply plug everything in, i.e.,:

2·(-2) - 3·(3) - (-2)

Simplify.

(-4) + (-9) + 2

Get rid of parenthesis.

-4 - 9 + 2

Remember to do PEMDAS.

  • Parenthesis
  • Exponents
  • Multuply
  • Divide
  • Add
  • Subtract

So, since adding comes before subtracting, let's add!

-4 - 9 + 2

-4 - 7

Simplify.

-11

So, the answer is (A) -11
