The important feature of civil disobediance movement was the participation of women. They came out of their home to listen to gandhiji during march. They involved in the movement to manufacture of salt, march etc. Many of their went to jail. In rural areas women are from high caste families and urban area women from higher positions

Participation of women in the Civil Disobedience Movement :

(i) Women in large number participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement.

(ii) During Salt March thousands of women came out of their homes to listen to Gandhiji.

(iii) They participated in protest marches, manufactured salt.

(iv) They picketed foreign cloth and liquor shops.

(v) Many went to jail.

(vi) They began to see service to the nation as a sacred duty of women.
