Sugar daddies and sugar mummies are a big problem currently. The habit of dating older people for money has led to increased spread of HIV/AIDS. The habit propagates this deadly disease in three ways. One is that there is reduced chance of using protection. Without protection, both partners are exposed and may contract HIV which results in AIDS. The second factor is that there is no faithfulness. The partners are changed as long as it is convenient. This makes it easier to contract HIV. Most young people fall into this trap not knowing that they share the partners. The third factor is the fact that cross generational sex may force people to try unnatural sex act that increase the possibility of contracting the virus. Since the partnership is not equal, one may be forced into unnatural acts that expose them to the virus.

The sugar daddy and sugar mama phenomenon can lead to HIV infections in the following ways:

● this type of relationship promotes cohabitation with more than one partner which is considered as one of the most common ways For spreading HIV

● the sugar relationships are becoming prevalent in the western culture and the more these relationships are being accepted as legal the more people are indulging in it and does leading towards the threat of HIV

● although it is not necessary that these relationship involve sexual relationship but in most of the cases it involves and as these relationships are not permanent, they keep on changing and change leads to sexual relationship between various persons and thus a cause of HIV.
