Even though oxygen is the last acceptor of electron and is not involved beforehand in electron transport chain, then why does the fate of pyruvic acid(aerobic or anerobic) formed after glycolysis depend on presence or absence of oxygen?
what is the role of Oxygen here..??

Answer:

its  totally the process aerobic and anerobic

Explanation:

in presence of oxygen pyruvic complete break down into co2 and h2o

if not into lactic acid and alcohol here only 2 atp formed hence oxygen presence plays vital role of giving 38 atp in aerobic
