Unity was the one way through which you can defeat the colonizers. The revolt of 1857 was only limited to some places while most of Indians did not know about it.

Although it did fail but it showed the British how hard Indians can fight and also gave the lesson of unity to the Indians.

On May 10, 1857, the revolt of 1857 was started. It was started by Sepoy Mutiny in Meerut. It lasted for a year and bought the changes required for India yet was unsuccessful.  

The main aim is to abolish the East India Company. The other names of the revolt are the Great Rebellion, the Indian Mutiny, and the Sepoy Mutiny.

Northern parts and the central parts of India took part in the revolt. Reasons that bundled up the Indians were economic, political, social as well as military. The Doctrine of Lapse, extension of the British policies was the main Political cause of the revolt. The economic cause was the peasants and farmers were forced to pay high taxes. Abolition of sati pratha and child marriage and encourage of the widow remarriage were consider as a great threat to Indian traditions or culture, and refers to the social cause of the Revolt of 1857. European sepoys were getting much importance and benefits then the Indian sepoys and it became a concern for the military cause of the Revolt of 1857.

The revolt was unsuccessful but it taught Indians to unite and fight against the British rule or colonialism. it taught the importance of oneness and unity for all.
