every atom has electrons neutrons and protons..........these fundamental particles are same in all atoms............... only the Change in number of them........changes the characteristics of whole element ............... Why it happens.......

Electrons have Negative charge on them while Protons have postive charge and as we know that in an atom the no. if both are same so the Total charge on an electron is zero... but Atoms always want ro achieve stability by loosing ir gaining electrons that gives rise To Higher Positive ir negative charge in an atom.. Tht makes it An ion and Changes it properties
