Yes it is is true .
It is because your body needs time to change for certain tasks. If you start heavy exercise without a warm up , you will feel lazy of tired in a short period of time of doing exercise. It happens because your body was not ready for it. But if your warm up was proper then your body will have adjusted accordingly and you will be able to exercise efficiently and you won’t feel tired too soon.
Whereas on the other hand , after an exercise we need to cool down and not immediately stop exercise and have rest cause there are chances that you may get muscle cramps if you take immediate rest after an exercise.
