This is a simple question of percentage change. Lets say the quantity is measured in liters and lets say that Rita used to consume ‘x’ liters of milk earlier. And lets say the cost of milk earlier was ‘y’ per liter.

Then,

Previously,

x * y = 810 …………(1)

Now since the price has increased by 12.5%

The new cost is

y + 12.5% of y = 1.125y

Now in order to spend the same amount lets say now Rita consumes ‘x2’ liters of milk. Then,

(x2) * (1.125y) = 810

x2 * 1.125y = x * y

x2 = x /1.125

x2 = 0.889 x.

Hence the percent decrease would be:

(x - 0.8889x) / x * 100%

= 11.11% decrease.
