Every SHM is periodic motion but every periodic motion need not be SHM.

Every periodic motion need not be SHM because for a peridic motion to be called SHM the essential condition
F= -kx is to be satisfied and this not possible always.

But every SHM is periodic because like any other periodic motion (that repeats after a fixed interval of time) in SHM Also body repeats its path after a fixed time interval.
