A shadow is firmed because light strikes that object and is reflected back in different directions and not go through it and as a result there is dark behind that object , which we call shadow. Sun is itself a source of light so it releases light in all directions so its shadow cannot be formed.

If any other source of light , more bright than sun is kept behind the sun then its shadow will be obtained.
