Every year Delhi comes under the grip of a monster named air pollution . Many steps have been taken by the government but all in the vain. It returns again and again every year. One of the measures that can be implemented is replacing cars by bicycle on Roads . write a letter to the editor of a daily newspaper about its benefits of riding bicycles.

Subject: Reducing Delhi’s Air Pollution

Sir:

Every year people of Delhi have to bear the brunt of toxic air pollution. Though the Government has taken many measures, yet the pollution remains a major challenge.

The other day I was reading about Amsterdam where most of the people use bicycle to commute to offices and schools. The vehicular pollution is minimal in this city.

I was wondering why bicycles are not made mandatory in Delhi also. This will not only reduce the air pollution, but will also reduce fossil fuel imports and have a positive effect on people’s health.

I appeal to the Government to look into my suggestion. Hoping for appropriate place for my views in your esteemed daily.

Yours truly,

Manish
