Because in rainy season, the rainfall rate is very high as a result the water bodies get overload with water and thus resulted to floods

every year we have floods in the rainy season in a particular area. you must have noticed this generally happens in the ara of high rainfall. this is because more rain leads to more water in the rivers which sometimes gets acces i.e. more water gets in the river than it can hold this leads to floods eventually leading to destruction
