Evolution cannot be said to progress from lower forms to higher forms. Rather, evolution seems to havr given rise to more complex body design even while the simpler body design to continue to flourish.

Answer :-
First of all, what is "Evolution"?
Ans - "Evolution" can be defined as the gradual changes in a species's genetic composition that helps it to survive in extreme conditions.
Evolved / Mutated species have a better chance of survival than their fellow species.
Evolution should not be equated with progress because of the following reasons -:
- Evolution doesn't exactly take place from the organisms at the root level but, it has been scientifically justified that higher level organisms can evolve even when the primitive organisms are still existing.
- Variations are carried forward on to successive generations through natural selection (according to the habitat of the organism).
- If in case, the variations go on accumulating over a certain period of time, sooner or later it may lead to the emergence of new species from the same group of species.
