The role played by pressure groups and movements in deepening democracy are:

1. Mass demonstration and Mobilisation : They perform mass demonstrations, do hartals, strikes. All this pressurises gov.

2. Seminars and conferences: They conduct seminars in which they explain cause of their struggle, what they want and why do they want. Their reasonable answers attract common peoples mind and all these puts pressure on gov.

3. Media help: Media is called as the press conferences are held which are shown on TV. Now, one media is behind something, it kills the thing. So, broadcast of such conferences influence people and they pressurise gov.

initially it may appear that the influence of pressure group and movement is not healthy in democracy since they promote the interest of only one section of the people

A democracy must look after the interest of all , not just one section Also it may seem that these group wield power without responsibility

political parties have to face the people in election but these group are not accountable to the people.
