Farmers undertake cultivation of turnip and clover as they help in enhancing the fertility of the soil by increasing the nitrogen content of the soil which is important for crop growth. Turnip is also a fodder liked by cattle.
Tulip develop deep roots which can spread out a couple of feet around the plants which pull nutrients from the environment to grow and even break up the soil so that it can become more fertile which takes place by drawing those deeply-held nutrients upward.
