The methylene(-CH2-) group present between any two electron withdrawing groups is called active mwthylene group like in Malonic ester and Acetoacetic ester. The H atoms become acidic and migrate to more electro negative atom attached to carbon by a Pi bond like in keto -enol tautomerism.
