Examples of DOUBLE DISPLACEMENT REACTION:-
Na2SO4 + BaCl2 ➡ BaSO4 + 2NaCl.

White precipitate of BaSO4 is formed, so it is also called precipitation reaction.

double displacement reactions generally take place in aqueous solutions in which the ions precipitated and there is an exchange of ions . For example , on mixing a solution of barium chloride with sodium sulphate , a white precipitated of barium sulphate in immediately formed . There reaction are ionic in nature.
