Answer:

During phagocytosis, cells engulf solid particle by surrounding the solid substance with a vesicle.Phagocytes are organisms that undergo phagocytosis. Examples of phagocytes are some protists, such as amoebas, and white blood cells.

Pinocytosis is similar to phagocytosis, except the material that is being ingested by a cell is a liquid instead of a solid.  Body cells take in enzymes and hormones via the process of pinocytosis. Cells that have microvilli that are found along the intestinal wall also undergo pinocytosis in order to intake nutrients.

☯ Examples of Pinocytosis :

Pinocytosis is widely used among the cells of the body, but there are specific situations where pinocytosis plays a major role. Microvilli in the gut use this process to absorb nutrients from food. Cells in the kidney can use pinocytosis to separate nutrients and fluids from the urine that will be expelled from the body. In addition, human egg cells also use it to absorb nutrients prior to being fertilized.

☯ Examples of Phagocytosis :

White blood cell engulfing an invading bacterium to illustrate the process of phagocytosis. A cell that engages in phagocytosis is called a phagocyte. First, the white blood cell has to recognize the invader and realize that it needs to be destroyed.
