Hi friend....

Simile is a figure of speech in which two things are compared directly with a word 'Like' between them.

Eg: The old men were like the young boys playing there.

Here the word 'like ' is used directly.

When two things are compared indirectly without the use of 'like' then it is called metaphor.

Hope it helps
please mark it as brainliest if you find it useful friend :-)

Hi
So the figure of speech SIMILE is absolutely easy to understand.

SIMILE is said to be there in a sentence when 'LIKE' or 'AS' is used to conpare two things.
Example : The rain is like dotted silver pearls.
Therefore, this is a simile because LIKE is used and rain is compared to dotted silver pearls.
HOPE IT HELPSS. :')
