examples where two solids react to give a liquid.

PLZ HELP!!

Sushkh: Gallium and indium form a eutectic that melts about 15C
The mixture of SnI4 and SnBr4 that you would get by reacting Sn with IBr might be liquid if the SnI4 depresses the melting point of the SnBr4 far enough.

Ba(OH)2.8H2O(s) + 2NH4Cl(s) → 2NH3(g) + 10H2O(l) + BaCl2(s)

Mahimn: btw how can solid react with another solid?
Tapasya1304: Two solids reacting together is rare because a chemical reaction requires collisions between molecules. Even many reactions between solids involve a mobile intermediate. For example - the button batteries involve redox reactions that have all solid constituents - zinc, zinc oxide, silver, and silver oxide - but you still have mobile hydroxide ions in the intermediate reactions.
Incredible29: thank u so much
Tapasya1304: no prob
Mahimn: can you give me another example?

Explanation:

Two solids which combine on heating, to give a liquid.

Carbon + Sulphur → Carbon disulphide.

Ammonia + Hydrogen chloride → Ammonium chloride.

Lead dioxide → lead oxide + oxygen.

Iron (II) chloride + ammonium hydroxide → ammonium chloride + iron (III) hydroxide.

Hydrogen + Oxygen → water.
