Excess production of cash crops actually led to situation where the farmers had money with them and yet they could not buy food grains. Why did such a situation arise

excess production of cash crop farmer got many money but if each farmer grown cash crop then how grain will grow? for that if each farmer grown cash crop no one can grown grain so this problem will arise.

If a farmer produces excess of cash crops, he might run the chance to not storing them properly.

It could be that his crops may get damaged and he could transport or sell them. Maybe thats why he is not having sufficient money.
