Just because of the Tropic of Cancer that surpasses India at its middle part the country has been divided into two temperature zone. Most of the norther India lies over the Tropic of Cancer and 45% of India’s land lies under the cancer.  

Where India is completely a sub-tropical country but the peninsular India lies in the torrid zone which can also be said as the zone of maximum heat. Most of the norther part of the country receives snow fall during the winter and experiences severe heat during the summer. The torrid zone experiences the a dry and warm weather as they lies close to the equator.
