good morning mate..
The presence of large amount of nutrients in the water bodies causes a condition called algal bloom where there is excessive growth of algae..
This leads to the phenomenon of eutrophication..
It has many harmful effects:
1. The excessive growth of algae causes the reduction of amount of sunlight available for the organisms in the water bodies..
2. When these algae die then the bacteria will decompose it using the available oxygen from the water causing the reduction of oxygen which will eliminate the aquatic fauna..
3.Also the water bodies will become toxic..
Hope youl ike it..
