a= bq + r

225 = 135 *1 + 90

135 = 90*1 + 45

90 = 45*2 +0

Hcf is 45

38220 = 196*195 + 0

Hcf is 196

hope it help you

we know a = bq + r where a is dividend, b is divisor, q is quotient and r is the remainder.

1. 135 and 225

➡ 225 = 135 × 1 + 90

➡ 135 = 90 × 1 + 45

➡ 90 = 45 × 2 + 0

when remainder comes 0, the divisor is the HCF.

hence, it's HCF is 45.

2. 196 and 38220

➡ 38220 = 196 × 195 + 0

hence, it's HCF is 196.
