1. Two circles of radii 5 cm and 3 cm intersect at two points and the distance between
their centres is 4 cm. Find the length of the common chord.​

Answer:

i)y=9, x=6  ii) y=13, x=3

Step-by-step explanation:

In the fig. GUNS 26cm is the length of a side. So, we can covert the length 3y-1=26

                     3y=26+1

                       y= 27/3

                       y= 9

ii)  3x=18

       x=18/3

       x=6

In the fig. RUNS 20=y+7 & 16= x+y

                           i)y+7=20

                                  y=20-7

                                   y=13

                         ii) Now we have the measure of y

                               x+13=16

                                    x=16-13

                                    x=3
