2) 34.24 cm^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Diameter = \sqrt{6^{2} + 8^{2} }  = 10\\cm

so, radius, r = 5 cm

Thus area under shaded region =\pi r^{2} - 6x8 =   78.5 - 48 = 30.5 cm^{2}

2) radius, r = 4cm

So, area under shaded region = \pi r^{2} - 4x4 = 50.24 - 16 = 34.24 cm^{2}
