So, according to the question,

=> (x - 1/2) 1/2 = 1/8

=> x/2 - 1/4 = 1/8

=> x/2 = 1/8 + 1/4

=> x/2 = (1 + 2)/8

=> x/2 = 3/8

Cross Multiplying,

=> 8x = 6

=> x = 6/8

=> x = 3/4
