Exercise
There were three subjects for an examination. The
marks allotted were 250. 150 and 100 respectively. One
student secured 70%, 60% and 45% marks in the
3 subjects respectively. What is the total percentage of
marks secured by him?​

The marks alloted in three subjects are 250 , 150 and 100 respectively

Percentage of marks obtained by student from 250 is 70%

Marks obtained = 70% of 250

=70/100×250= 175

Percentage of marks obtained from 150 is 60%

Marks obtained = 60% of 150

= 60/100× 150=90

Percentage of marks obtained from 100 is 45%

Marks obtained =45% of 100

= 45/100×100= 45

Total marks obtained by students = 175+90+45= 310

Percentage= 310/250+150+100×100

= 310/500×100

= 62%
