this is by the identity (a+ b)^2
so, (3x + 1/2y)^2 + 2(3x + 1/ 2y)(2z) + (2z)^2
(9x^2 + 1/4y^2) + (6zx + 2z/y) + 4z^2
hope this helps!!!
