WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get. Writer is called WYSIWYG  because they include page layout modes that accurately display what the documents will look when printed.

Answer:

It stands for what we see what we get. Microsoft word is a writing program. We call it WYSIWYG because in MS Word what we type that is displayed on the screen and same we get in the form of the printed document. The main purpose of this program is to create the web page.
