Heat the mixture of common salt and ammonium chloride. And at the end of separating funnel put a cotton plug. Ammonium chloride undergoes sublimation, hence ammmonium chloride willl directly change into solid to gas and again to solid. Hence we can separate the ammonium chloride snd sodium chloride is left in the funnel
