The five major problems are :-
1. Upholding the constitution of India : Our constitution might appear to be one the best, justifiable in the world but our democratic system has failed to uphold its value.All the articles,laws etc appear to be on paper only when it is considered from an ordinary citizen’s perspective.
2. First Past the Post system of Elections : In our electoral system today,anyone who gets the highest number of votes from a particular constituency is elected while the rest of the views are not considered. For example, BJP is the ruling party with just 31% of votes! So vote share and seat projections are preposterous in our country.
3. Judical reform : Judiciary in our nation appears to be the most stagnant,corrupt institution,with plethora of pending cases which keep mounting on and on.How and why,we all need to find the answer!
4. Federal structure overhaul : The centre state relations nowadays have become very bitter with political adventurism,Favoritism playing its part.
5. Voice of the common man : This point may not appear technical and suave,but it is true that the voice of common man has been lost in our democracy,in our parliament. we need to reclaim it!
