Skull skeleton consists of 29 bones which can be classified into four groups

1.Cranium- It consists of 8 bones including frontal (1), Parietal (2), Temporal (2), Occipital (1), Ethmoid (1) and finally Sphenoid (1).

2. Facial - It consists 14 bones including Vomar (1), Mandible (1), Maxilla (2), Malar (2), Nasal (2), Lacrimal (2), Palatine (2) and Inferior Turbinals (2).

3. Ear Ossicles- It consists of three - three bones in both ears of humans that are Malleous(2), Incus (2) and Stapes (2).

4. Hyoid - It is U-shaped bond.

Extra Information

Lower jaw is made up of mandible which is largest, strongest and movable bone of skull.

• Upper jaw is made up of maxilla and palatine bone.

• Cranium is made up of a 8 flat membranous bone which are connected by white fibrous connective tissue.

• Cranium immovable Fibrous joint which are known as suture.
