A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying. Because no light can get out, people can't see black holes.

See in our universe there are stars so the centre of that star is known as a core . Now in that core na certain gases keeps on reacting, u will learn about the gases in 9th, anyway once the core is full of helium gas then the atoms combine and forms various gases but when iron is formed then the balance between radiation which is the amount of energy released and the gravity which is pulling differs. And hence the star dies and the matter is pulled inside the core and the energy which is given out is like 100000 billion more than the energy given by sun in its whole life like imagine and the thing which is left is black hole.
