Dictyosomes are stacks of flat, membrane-bound cavities (cisternae) that together comprise the Golgi apparatus. Within thedictyosomes, proteins are stored, modified, sorted, and packed into vesicles (which are then closed off as Golgi vesicles) for further transport.
