Answer:

First law of Thermodynamics :-

This law was given by Robert Mayer and Helmholtz .

This law is based on the law of conservation of energy.

According to this law :-

1 ) Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed but can be transformed from one form to another .

2 ) The total energy of the universe is always constant i.e , the sum of energies of a system and its surrounding is always constant .

3 ) The total energy of an isolated system is conserved .

4 ) It is impossible to create a perpetual ( continuous ) motion machine which can work without consuming energy ( fuel ) .

The first law of thermodynamics is a version of the law of conservation of energy, adapted for thermodynamic processes, distinguishing two kinds of transfer of energy, as heat and as thermodynamic work, and relating them to a function of a body's state, called Internal energy.

hope this helps you.
