different potential differences applied to the ends of the same conductor , will drive different currents through it , and the same potential difference applied to different conductors , will produce different currents . this was investigated by G. S ohm in 1826 and is known as ohm ' s law.


limitations of ohm's law

ohm's law does not apply to vacuum tubes, metal rectifiers and electricity through gases.

ohm's law is applicable only when the temperature is constant.
