SQUAMOUS EPITHELIUM

A simple squamous epithelium is a single layer of flat cells in contact with the basal lamina

SRATIFIED EPITHELIUM

A stratified squamous epithelium consists of squamous (flattened) epithelial cells arranged in layers upon a basal membrane

GLANDULAR EPITHELIUM

Glandular epithelium is a type ofepithelial tissue which covers the glands (both exocrine and endocrine) of our body.

Howdy buddy!

squamous epithelium

  • The skin, which protects the body is also made up of squamous epithelium. It is further divided as
  • (A) simple squamous epithelium. (B) stratified squamous epithelium. (C) cuboidal epithelium (D) columnar epithelium. (E) ciliated columnar epithelium. (F) glandular epithelium.

startified squamous eptithelium

  • cells are arranged in many layers to prevent wear and tear.
  • found in outer side of skin as it is highly resistant to mechanical injury and is water-proof.

Glandular epithelium

  • gland cells screte substances at the epithelial surface.
  • portion of epthelial tissues get folded sometimes, which results in the formation of multicelluar gland. This is called as glandular epithelium.

Hope it helps!
