superior vena cava

  • It is located in the anterior right superior mediastinum

  • This venacava drains to right atrium of the heart

  • It is about 7 cm long and 2 cm wide

Inferior Vena cava

  • It is located at the posterior abdominal wall on the right side of the aorta.

  • It is also called as the largest vein of the human body.

  • The size of this vein is 15 to 17 mm

  • It's main function is to carry the venous blood from the lower limbs and abdominopelvic region to the heart.
