adaptive radiation is more frequent in areas with large no. of small habitats.

difference between marsupial and placental mammal:

marsupial are the mammals which arose from the placental mammals by adaptive radiation which in and itself is a process of divergent evolution.

unlike placental mammals the marsupials give rise to young ones in an immature state and allow them develop inside the pouch which is outside of the body, whereas in the placental mammal the foetus completely inside the mother's womb.
