Step-by-step explanation:

In order to add or subtract fractions, the first step is to find the lowest common denominator (in short LCD). Now to find the LCD you have to know what the lowest common factor (in short LCF) is. Once you have the LCF , it will be your denominator and depending on what your original numerator was you are going to then have to multiply.

For example:

                       \frac{2}{3} + \frac{3}{2}         LCF= 6

                                                                                ∴ the new LCD= 6

                                   \frac{2(3)}{6} + \frac{3(2)}{6}\\ \\=    \frac{6}{6} +\frac{6}{6}\\ \\= \frac{12}{6}  =  2

(ps: this is my first time answering, sorry f its not too great)
