because they can't form coordinated bonds ...they cab only loose electrons and their valency is also small

- They are Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Fr, etc.
● Alkali metals are poor complexing agents because -
1) alkali metals have large atomic size
2) they have no vacant d-orbitals
3) they are weak oxidizing agents
4) they can't accept electrons from ligands.
