Three main factors and reasons for population growth, is as follows:

1. Decline in death rate: With the advance of medicine, people today have been able to find a cure for various diseases. These treatments have helped in prolonging their life expectancy. Hence, the death rate today has fallen down.

2. Increase in birth rate: Better nutritional facilities today has enabled the fertility rate to increase. Treatments and medicines, help women in conception, thus leading to an increase in birth rate.

3. Migration: People migrate from one place to another for various reasons. This migration has caused an increase in population in various places.

Population growth can be changed, if a factors such as better medical and educational facilities in rural areas. Providing incentives such as "free education for families with only a single child" etc. Educating and creating awareness among people about the disadvantages of population growth, linking it to how this can directly effect them. Making contraceptives available easily and cheaply.
