Explain all the types of chemical reaction with examples?
Answers
▶️The five basic types of chemical reactions are combination, decomposition, single-replacement, double-replacement, and combustion.
▶️Analyzing the reactants and products of a given reaction will allow you to place it into one of these categories.
▶️Some reactions will fit into more than one category.

Combination Reaction
A combination reaction is a reaction where two or more elements or compounds combine to form a single compound. Such reactions are represented by equations of the following form:
X + Y → XY.
The combination of two or more elements to form one compound is called combination reaction.
Eg - C + O2 → CO2
CaO + H2O → Ca(OH)2
Decomposition Reaction
A decomposition reaction is a reaction in which a compound breaks down into two or more simpler substances. The general form of a decomposition reaction is:
AB → A + B.
Most decomposition reactions require an input of energy in the form of heat, light, or electricity.
Eg - H2O2 → H2O + O2
H2O → H2 + O2
Displacement Reaction
A displacement reaction is the one wherein the atom or a set of atoms is displaced by another atom in a molecule. For instance, when iron is added to a copper sulphate solution, it displaces the copper metal.
A + B-C → A-C + B.
The above equation exists when A is more reactive than B.
Eg - AgNO3 + Zn → Ag + Zn(NO3)2
Mg + HCl → H2 + MgCl2
Double Decomposition Reaction
A double decomposition reaction is a reaction in which the positive ions and negative ions in two compounds switch partners to form two new compounds.
The equation is often written in the general form
AB + CD → CB + AD
Eg - Ca(OH)2 + NH4Cl → CaCl2 + NH4OH
CuSO4 + H2S → CuS + H2SO4
Hope this helps.
