Explanation:

● respiration in yeast - when glucose breaks down in absence of oxygen it gives ethanol and small amount of energy.

C6H12O6 -----> Ethanol + 2 ATP

● our muscles - when glucose breaks down in lack of oxygen it gives lactic acid and energy!

C6H12O6 -----> Lactic acid + 2 ATP

Answer:

ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION

Anaerobic means “without air”. Therefore, this type of cellular respiration does not use oxygen to produce energy.

IN HUMAN BODY -

when human beings do heavy exercises there is only partial breakdown of glucose because oxygen cannot reach every cell of our body within that small amount of time therefore there is formation of lactic acid and this formation causes muscles cramps anaerobic respiration takes place in few cells.

Glucose → Lactic acid + Energy

IN YEAST

Yeast gets energy through anaerobic respiration. In the absence of oxygen glucose breaks down into alcohol and carbon dioxide.

Following reaction takes place without the use of oxygen:

Glucose ------> Alcohol + Carbon dioxide + Energy
